Ben McCook

LPC-Associate, Supervised by Laura Beth Cooper, Psychologist & LPC-S

Ben believes therapy should be a place where you can show up as yourself, without judgment, pressure, or the expectation that you already have everything figured out. His approach is warm, approachable, and collaborative, and he works to create an environment where clients feel genuinely heard and respected. At the same time, Ben isn’t afraid to be honest and direct when it can help clients gain insight, challenge unhelpful patterns, and move toward meaningful change.

Ben draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed approaches, play-based interventions, and creative expression. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, he adapts therapy to each client’s age, needs, concerns, and goals. He also incorporates psychoeducation and practical skill-building so that clients leave therapy with tools they can use in everyday life—not just during their sessions.

Ultimately, Ben hopes clients gain greater self-awareness, practical skills, and a stronger sense of agency in their own lives. His goal is for clients to feel more confident in their ability to navigate challenges, make meaningful changes, and move toward the life and relationships they want.
