Online Video Teletherapy

Many therapists began using teletherapy when the COVID-19 pandemic began, and insurance companies were required to cover these services. Because we continue to experience uncertainties related to COVID-19, safety is a big concern for many individuals. It is our goal to help you and others stay safe and protected, by offering teletherapy.

Teletherapy can be useful for individual therapy, couples therapy, teens, and some children (depending on age and maturity). You can use your computer, tablet, or phone to participate in sessions through our HIPAA compliant platform. There is no additional charge for this service, it does not require a monthly subscription, and most insurances will now cover teletherapy services.

How it works

When you schedule a teletherapy appointment, you will receive a link in your email. For phones and tablets, you may need to download the app in order to access your appointment. Then just click the link at the time of your appointment. The teletherapy appointment is encrypted, secure, and HIPAA compliant.

Make sure you are in a private area. Teletherapy allows you to keep your regularly scheduled appointments, no matter where you are. Your privacy is important, so be sure to choose an area where no one will overhear your conversation. You can talk to your therapist from a private room in your house, from a nice quiet spot outside, or from your parked car in your driveway. If you have difficulty accessing a private area, our therapists are usually flexible in accommodating your schedule so that you can meet at a time when you have more privacy.

On some occasion, you may get a surprise visit from your therapist’s dog or cat, but don’t worry – all of our pets are fully trained in our HIPAA protocols!

Switch your appointment to Teletherapy at any time

You don’t have to cancel your appointment due to pesky COVID-19 exposures. Canceling appointments can delay your progress and unnecessarily prolong your treatment. You don’t have to cancel your appointments due to being exposed to COVID-19, simply call our office and ask them to change your appointment to teletherapy. You can also switch your appointments to teletherapy for a number of other reasons, such as being out of town (simply meet your therapist from the privacy of your hotel room).
